Bac Ninh province to strengthen cooperation with Daegu city (Korea)
(BNP) – A delegation of Daegu city (Korea) led by Mr. Kim Yon Chang, Vice Mayor of Daegu city on April 10th visited and worked in Bac Ninh province on strengthening cooperation between Bac Ninh province and Daegu city.

* At the headquarter of Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee welcomed the delegation and introduced historical, cultural and socio-economic development of the province in the recent years. He affirmed that the great economic development of Bac Ninh province nowadays was thanks to important contributions of enterprises and investors from Korea, especially the dedication of Samsung investing and developing in Bac Ninh.
The Secretary also said, Korea is one of the countries with high-level development and has a close and longstanding relationship with Bac Ninh province. On the basis of this good traditional relationship, the cooperation between Bac Ninh province and Daegu city would be established and developed, contributing to promoting friendship between Vietnam and Korea in general, he added.
Expressing the gratitude to leaders of Bac Ninh for the warmly welcome and the sentiments, Mr. Kim Yon Chang confirmed that he would continue to create connection between two localities and hoped to see the supports and facilitation of the province’s leaders given to the Daegu enterprises in investing and developing the business in the province.
Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee speaks at the meeting
* At Provincial People’s Committee Office, Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee received and worked with the delegation. Attending the meeting were Mr. Nguyen Tien Nhuong, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee; leaders of relevant departments and sectors.
At the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Tu Quynh briefed on outstanding achievements of the province’s recent socio-economic development. In spite of being the smallest province in the country, however with favorable geo-economic location, open policies and investment attraction, Bac Ninh’s economy is ranked 4th nationwide and attracted about 1,200 FDI projects with total investment of nearly USD 16 billion from 33 countries and territories, of which the largest proportion is from Korea.
He further affirmed that Bac Ninh is now striving to become a centrally-run city by 2022 and implementing the first steps to build a smart city. The province always welcomes foreign investors to Bac Ninh, especially cooperation in the fields of human resources training in the health sector, waste water treatment, environmental protection and other fields to speed up implementation progress of smart city building project.
At the meeting, participants discussed some contents of cooperation between two localities in the future including health sector, textile industry development, environmental protection, electric traffic system development, informative technology development, high technology, etc.
For the Korean delegation, Mr. Kim Yon Chang said that Daegu is now focusing on the development of health, pharmaceutical production; textiles and automotive components. Vice Mayor expressed his hope that the enterprises from Daegu, in the coming time, would receive the supports of Bac Ninh’s leaders to invest in the fields of Bac Ninh and Daegu’s mutual interest.
