Bac Ninh attracts more than 1.1 million tourists

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in 2020, the province attracted more than 1.1 million tourists, down 33% over the same period in 2019; total tourism revenue was estimated at VND 748 billion, down 38% compared with the same period.

From the beginning of 2020, Bac Ninh tourism is strongly influenced by the Covid-19 epidemic. Facing this situation, the province’s tourism sector promptly implemented plans for the Covid-19 pandemic, among which 100% of major festivals were stopped under the direction of the Government and the Provincial People's Committee; directed tour operators to cancel tours, not organize bringing tourists from epidemic areas to Bac Ninh and bring Bac Ninh visitors to epidemic zones; the accommodation business establishments actively disinfected and classified customers for monitoring. At the same time, the sector, accommodation establishments jointly surveyed, selected hotels and accommodation establishments to serve Covid-19 prevention and control isolation.

In 2021, the forecast for Covid-19 epidemic is still complicated, the tourism sector actively makes plans to respond to the epidemic, ensure absolute safety for people and tourists; promote propaganda and advertise images of safe and friendly destinations focusing on the program of singing Quan Ho folk songs singing on boats, craft villages, and big festivals; promote tourism promotion, cooperate and link development of tours, routes and tourist spots with provinces and cities nationwide, in order to restore and develop tourism, contributing to socio-economic development of the province./.
