Bac Ninh economy – Highlight of FDI attraction
(BNP) – In the first 6 months of 2019, the province's economy achieved some bright spots, among which, some indicators directly related to people's life continued to increase. In particular, Bac Ninh ranked the third in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction in nationwide.

In the past time, Bac Ninh continued to deploy synchronously solutions to improve the investment environment. The Public Administration Reform Index (PAR INDEX) increased by 3 places, the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) increased by 2 places against the previous year, the Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) increased by 6.54 point. The Information & Communication Technology Index (ICT Index) rose by 2 places… Thanks to the attractive investment environment, Bac Ninh was still the destination place for foreign investors.
In the first 6 months, Bac Ninh attracted new capital and adjusted capital of over USD 1 billion, up 62% against the same period, ranking the 3rd in nationwide (after Binh Duong and Tay Ninh). Domestic investment attraction reached over VND 5,510 billion; 1,086 enterprises were newly established with a total registered capital of VND 12,040 billion. Typically, the province awarded investment certificates for projects belonging to Yen Phong Industrial Zone II-C and VSIP Bac Ninh II; the groundbreaking ceremony to build the cultural institution area belonging to the project of Yen Phong Industrial Park Social Housing; the inauguration of plant oil extraction factory (VND 1200 billion), Linfox (USD 23 million), the groundbreaking ceremony to build Logistic FM (USD 30 million) and some other factories.
State budget revenue was estimated at VND 15,188 billion, accounting for 55% of the yearly estimate, up 5% compared to the same period. The new rural construction program continued to be strengthened in association with the implementation of the campaign "All people unite to build new rural and civilized cities". So far, the average number of criteria for new rural standard is 18.85 criteria/commune, with an increase of 0.34 criteria/commune compared with the same period and 0.18 criteria/commune compared to the end of 2018. Besides, the career of culture, society, education, health and sports is comprehensively developed. The work of social security and welfare is ensured and people's life is increasingly improved.
In the last 6 months this year, the province will focus on analyzing, forecasting, closely monitoring the developments of international, regional, domestic and provincial situations in order to have appropriate policy. In particular, the province will focus on accelerating the progress of making provincial planning in the period of 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050; implement solutions with an aim to strongly improving the business investment environment, enhancing publicity, transparency, accountability and timely providing information in the fields.
Along with that, the province also concentrates on developing service sectors and rural markets; developing service activities inside and outside the Industrial Park as well as accelerating the implementation of investment projects to build socio-economic infrastructure, urban and rural infrastructure…
