Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang receives and works with President of Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association in Chukyo region

Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang presents Bac Ninh craft village products to Mr. Toshimichi Maeda.

On behalf of provincial leaders, Chairwoman Giang expressed her joy and excitement to welcome Mr. Toshimichi Maeda to visit and work in the province. At the same time, Giang thanked for Japan’s attention and affection to Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular in recent years.

Giang also said that up to now, Bac Ninh province has attracted more than USD 23 billion in FDI investment attraction, of which, Japanese enterprises are very important partners of the province with 97 projects with a total capital of USD 1.6 billion, ranking the third on the scale of foreign investment capital in the province.

In early 2017 and 2018, Bac Ninh province received cherry blossom trees donated by Japan and planted in Bac Ninh city and Tu Son city. The cherry blossom trees are carefully cared for, grow and develop well, thereby, further affirming the sustainable friendship between the two countries Japan - Vietnam in general and with Bac Ninh province in particular, Giang added.

2023 is the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, the Chairman wished that  the Japan Friendship Association Ban - Vietnam in Chukyo region will be the bridge for the two sides to organize investment promotion activities, especially industrial investment contact. She expressed her hope to receive the support of the Association in giving cherry blossom trees to be planted in some locations in the province, thereby contributing to tightening the friendship relationship between Japan and Bac Ninh province.

For his part, Mr. Toshimichi Maeda thanked the respectful reception of the leaders of Bac Ninh province. At the same time, he also said the Japan - Vietnam Friendship Association will donate and plant cherry blossom trees in Vietnam in 2023, thereby, strengthening the friendship between the two countries Japan - Vietnam in general and Bac Ninh province in particular.

Mr. Toshimichi Maeda wished Bac Ninh province to coordinate and create conditions for handing over and receiving from 100 - 150 cherry blossom trees to plant in a number of locations in the province.
