Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang receives delegation of Gumi city (Korea)
(BNP) - On October 20, Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee received a delegation of Gumi city, Gyeongsangbuk province (Korea) led by Mr. Kim Jang-ho, the city's mayor.

At the meeting, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang briefly introduced the outstanding achievements in the province’s socio-economic development after 25 years of its reestablishment.
Giang also said that since 2019, Bac Ninh province has established a friendly cooperative relationship with the city of Daegu, Korea. After signing the Cooperation Agreement, the two sides have implemented many cooperation and exchange activities such as investment promotion, people-to-people exchanges, and cultural exchanges.
She also expressed her pleasure to know that on October 19, the delegation of Gumi city and Bac Ninh city signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two sides, among which, they agreed to promote cooperation in all fields.
Giang wished that the cooperation relationship between Bac Ninh and Gumi city will develop more and more in many fields, especially attracting investors from Gumi city to invest in the province, contributing to promoting the friendship between Vietnam and Korea to be stronger.
Thanks for the warm welcome of the Bac Ninh provincial leaders, Mr. Kim Jang-ho said, Gumi is the largest industrial city in Korea with many world-class companies such as Samsung, LG. Although Gumi city is only 615 km2 wide, it has 3,200 large and small factories, of which, Samsung is the largest factory, contributing more than 50% of the city's revenue with two key industries, electronics and information technology.
Mr. Kim Jang-ho expressed his impression of the dynamic development, open investment environment of Bac Ninh as well as the direction and operation of the provincial leaders in recent years, and affirmed his desire to continue to build friendly relations between the two localities of Bac Ninh - Gumi and the two countries of Vietnam - Korea.
Mr. Kim Jang-ho emphasized that the visit and work of the delegation in Bac Ninh this time is meant to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022), aiming to elevate the relationship between the two countries to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" in the near future.
