Conference on improvement of local governance indicators in 2021

Provincial leaders discuss with participants the Provincial People's Committee’s venue.

Participants at Provincial People’s Committee’ venue were Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Quoc Chung; Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; Vice Chairwoman of Provincial People’s Council Tran Thi Hang; Prof. Dr. Andreas Stoffers, Country Director of the Friedrich Naumann Institute for Freedom (FNF) Vietnam; leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Vice Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Dao Quang Khai attended the Conference at Department of Information and Communications.

Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang informed that in 2020, the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) ranked 4th; the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) ranked 10th; the readiness index for information technology development and application (ICT INDEX) ranked 12th; the Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS)) ranked 9th; the Public Administrative Reform index (PAR INDEX) ranked 17^th nationwide.

Participants’ presentation focused on analyzing the indicators on PAPI, PCI, PAR INDEX, SIPAS, ICT INDEX of Bac Ninh in 2020, pointed out limitations as well as proposed key solutions to maintain, improve and enhance the indicators in 2021 and the following years.

The Chairwoman highly valuated the participants’ opinion as valuable experiences in Bac Ninh’s efforts to maintain, improve and enhance these indicators in the following years.

She required the Departments, branches and localities to immediately apply policies for employees and employers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic so that the support packages will be delivered in the shortest time and to the right beneficiaries; continue to follow the Provincial People's Committee's Directives and Plans on local governance and administration in 2021; cut down and shorten administrative procedures, and so on.

Giang believed that with determination of authorities at all levels, Bac Ninh will achieve positive results on local governance indicators in the coming years, creating a driving force for socio-economic development in the 2021-2025 period.
