Connections for Development Forum 2021

(BNP) - On April 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnam Economic Times jointly organized Connections for Development Forum 2021 with the theme "Connecting Locality - Businesses, Seizing new opportunities" in Ha Noi. Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Pham Binh Minh attended and delivered a speech at the Forum.

The forum is an annual important event to promote connection, update and exchange information, strengthen linkages between stakeholders, expand cooperation, thus creating synergy, overcoming challenges together, towards prosperity and sustainable development.

Addressing the event, DPM Pham Binh Minh emphasized that, in 2020, Vietnam has become an attractive investment destination in Asia with the fastest increasing national brand value in the world. Through 3 waves of FDI investment, Vietnam attracted more than 33,000 FDI projects with total investment capital of more than USD 384 billion USD. This is an important driving force for the Government, ministries, branches and localities to continue their efforts in building a modern administrative system so as to serve the business community to join hands for a prosperous Vietnam.

In the coming time, the Government will also focus on fine-tuning the legal system, improving the state governance capacity over macro-economic management as a way of attracting greater FDI inflows in a selective manner, while simultaneously enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy and striving to develop an independent and autonomous economy.

Within the framework of the event, there was a discussion session between the ministries, branches of the central government, localities, associations, economic experts with typical domestic and foreign enterprises.

Speaking at the discussion session, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized that in recent years, Bac Ninh focused on developing industrial zones and cluster as well as promoting investment attraction at home and abroad. Up to now, there are 16 integrated industrial zones and 26 industrial clusters. Bac Ninh attracted more than 1,600 FDI projects with total capital of about USD 20 billion.

He affirmed that the Party Committee and the government of Bac Ninh province always supports and facilitates businesses to make long-term investment in the province with the motto "Bac Ninh always accompanies enterprises, the success of the business is also the success of the province"”.

On the same day, Vietnam Economic Times held the 20th Golden Dragon Awards. The program aims to honor FDI enterprises and Vietnamese enterprises with outstanding achievements in production and business activities.

At the program, the Organizing Committee voted and honored Top 50 sustainable enterprises and Top 10 typical enterprises. Samsung Vietnam Complex in Bac Ninh was in Top 10 Golden Dragon enterprises in 2021. Bac Ninh province was honored to receive the Campaign Medal on attracting and effectively implementing FDI projects.
