Delegation of Bac Ninh province offers incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs in Quang Tri

(BNP) - On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - 2023), a delegation of Bac Ninh province led by Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies Nguyen Anh Tuan offered incense to commemorate heroes and martyrs at the National Martyrs Cemetery Road 9, Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, and Special National Monument of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel (Quang Tri Province).

Joining the delegation were Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Thi Hang; members of Provincial Party Standing Committee, The Provincial Permanent People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputy and  a number of relevant departments and branches.

The Bac Ninh delegation offered incense and flowers at the National Martyrs Cemetery Road 9 and the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery to commemorate heroes and martyrs. Along with tens of thousands of martyrs from the provinces and cities, there are great Bac Ninh children who valiantly gave themselves for the nation's independence and freedom, as well as the happiness of the people.

The National Martyrs Cemetery Road 9 in Dong Ha city is the final resting place of almost 10,000 martyrs, many of whom are Bac Ninh people who fought and served on the Road 9 and Laos throughout the country's valiant anti-American resistance battle.

Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery is located in Vinh Tuong commune, Gio Linh district, on Ben Tat hill, near to National Highway 15. This is the country's greatest and largest "Grateful Gratitude" work, created on a total area of 140 thousand m2, and is the location of more than 10,000 victims' graves from across the country who sacrificed themselves on the iconic Ho Chi Minh road, 257 of whom were Bac Ninh province children.

Every year, Bac Ninh province spends the budget source to repair and beautify martyrs' cemeteries in the Ha Bac area, based on the profound idea of "drinking water, remember the source." At the same time, the province also organized a delegation to visit and offer incense to commemorate the merits of heroes and martyrs in Quang Tri province.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan and members of the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense at the special National Monument of Quang Tri Ancient Citadel to pay tribute to more than 4,000 heroes and martyrs who have heroically sacrificed to protect their lives. During the 81 days and nights of history in 1972, the Quang Tri Citadel and town were secured. Quang Tri Citadel is now a gleaming monument of revolutionary courage, a sacred symbol of peace yearning, and a symbol of peace as well as a location where younger generations can learn about patriotic and revolutionary traditions.

In front of the heroes and martyrs, provincial officials vowed to continue fostering the spirit of unity and solidarity, working to overcome obstacles, promote socioeconomic development, and raise people's living conditions, maintain political stability, build a strong Party, government, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations as well as continue to well-implement the work of providing meritorious services to people's families, thereby contributing to the development of Bac Ninh province in a more comprehensive and stable manner.
