Historical and cultural relic of temple of Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung
(BNP) - Located in the middle of Cam Giang quarter, Dong Nguyen ward, Tu Son city, the temple of Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung was built during the Le dynasty. During the resistance war against the French, it was completely destroyed. In 2015, local people and descendants of the family contributed their contributions to rebuilding the new temple with a spacious and good appearance.
The temple is a place to worship Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung (born in 1647) in Cam Chuong village (Cam Duong), Tam Son district, Dong Ngan district, Tu Son district, now Cam Giang quarter, Dong Nguyen ward, Tu Son city.
In 1676, he passed the doctoral exam, was appointed by the Le court as a mandarin, and was sent to the Qing dynasty. He worked as an official for the position of Minister of the Household under the title of Khanh Son Marquis, then returned to rest and died in his hometown in 1719, at the age of 75.
The main gate of the temple is built of green stone.

Currently, the temple is built on a campus of 2,441.1 square meters, with an architecture of Chinese “Nhi” letter, including Tien te (Front Ceremonial Hall) and Hau Cung (Emperor’s Harem).
Front Ceremonial Hall has 5 compartments.
Emperor’s Harem has 3 compartments.
Currently, the temple still preserves a 19th century genealogy book along with an altar, incense burner, horizontal lacquered boar, couplets...
In particular, the stone stele erected in Bao Thai's eighth year (1727), clearly records the merits of Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung.
In the temple, there is a stele house to worship the Heroes and Martyrs of the quarter.

On the left of the temple is the national historical and cultural relic of Cam Giang communal house.
Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung's grave is located in the middle of a field at the end of Cam Giang quarter.. On June 6 (lunar calendar), the death anniversary of Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung, family descendants held ceremonies at the temple.
The relic of Dr. Nguyen Ngo Chung's temple and grave is ranked as provincial-level historical and cultural relics according to Decision No. 1598/CT dated November 30, 1996.
