Index of industrial production highly increases in March

(BNP) - In March, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased very high (+ 34.9%) compared to the previous month and slightly increased 1.1% compared to the same month last year.

Particularly, processing and manufacturing increased by 35% and 1.1%; the distribution of electricity, gas, hot water, steam and air conditioning increased by 5.4% and 2.8%; water supply industry, waste and wastewater management and treatment increased 18.5% but decreased 3.5%.

In the manufacturing and processing industry, the manufacturing of electronic products, computers and optical products highly increased (+ 36.7%) but slightly decreased (-0.2%).

Generally, in the first quarter, IIP achieved a good increase (+ 9.2%) over the same period last year.
