Le Chi Vien litchi garden is located in the bank of Duong river, Dai Lai village, Dai Lai commune of Gia Binh district. Having beautiful site and military position in Ly dynasty, the garden in the past, was built as an isolating imperial palace (used as imperial station for the King when travelling to the Northeast of the country) named Ly Trang. Le Chi Vien also means litchi garden, cause there were a lot of litchi trees planted there.
This is also the place where happened the scandal of High official Nguyen Trai and his wife Nguyen Thi Lo in former Le dynasty, which led to their deaths by the indictment as King’s murders. At present, in the precinct of this relic, there are two black stone statues of Formality advisor Nguyen Thi Lo and the world cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai; a big wall carved with his famous work “Great Proclamation upon the Pacification of the Wu” (Binh Ngo Dai Cao) and many valuable objects. Le Chi Vien litchi garden was ranked by the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh province as Cultural historical relic in 2010.
