Luong Tai achieves an average of 17.77 criteria/commune in new rural development

(BNP) - After more than 7 years of implementation of the national target program on new rural development, until September 2018, Luong Tai district has 8 communes recognized as new rural standard communes. Total achieved criteria are 231 criteria, reaching an average of 17.77 criteria/commune, increasing by 1.15 criteria/commune compared with the same period of 2017.

The face of the rural area in Luong Tai is increasingly being renovated

Particularly, in the first 6 months of 2018, the district mobilized over VND 400 billion for the new rural development program, of which the focus was mainly on constructing schools, health centers, communes’ office, cultural houses, support for housing construction for meritorious people, poor households...

The rural face of Luong Tai and living standard of the people have been improved with a variety of indicators. For instance, the per capita income in 2017 is more than VND 34 million VND, the poverty rate is reduced to 2.62%. All communes meet the national criteria on health; 100% of classrooms are solidified; the rate of national standard schools is 88.2%, more than 95% of households in rural areas have hygienic sanitation facilities, 100% of people use hygienic water.

In 2018, Luong Tai district expects to add three more communes meeting new rural standards, namely My Huong, Lai Ha and An Thinh, creating a premise for the district to reach the new rural standards by 2019.
