More than 400 artists and actors attend 2nd Bac Ninh Provincial Van and Chau Van Singings Festival
(BNP) - On the evening of October 24, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the People's Committee of Yen Phong district jointly organized the 2nd Bac Ninh Provincial Van and Chau Van Singings Festival - 2024 at the temple of Lieutenant Ly Thuong Kiet, Tam Giang commune, Yen Phong district.
Delegates present souvenir flags to delegations participating in the Festival.
Attending the Festival were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, the Department of Culture - Society, the Provincial People's Council, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; districts, towns and cities.
“Van” and “Chau Van” singings are traditional art forms in the "Vietnamese practice of worshipping the Mother Goddesses of the Tam phu" that were recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.
The festival attracted more than 400 artisans, mediums, musicians and actors from 13 mass art troupes from 8 districts, towns and cities. During 30-35 minutes, each troupe performed 1 Van singing performance and 1 Chau Van performance.
The festival is one of the activities to concretize the Party's guidelines and policies, as well as the State's laws on the development of Vietnamese culture and people, which are associated with the work of preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage, in order to achieve the country's long-term development goals. The festival also intends to promote creativity and innovation by bringing traditional performing arts forms related with historical and cultural artifacts, gradually building and creating unique tourism products that will attract visitors from all over the world to Bac Ninh. At the same time, it has a significant impact, extending the value of the locality's traditional cultural heritages and gradually boosting people's pleasure of spiritual life.
After the opening ceremony, the contest of Bac Ninh Van Song Club, Kiep Bac Vong Club from Tien Du and Yen Phong District Culture, Sports and Communication Center took place.
During the Festival, there will also be activities displaying and introducing craft village products, OCOP products, cultural tourism products...
The festival takes place over 2 days, October 24-25. According to the plan, on the evening of October 25, the organizing committee will perform impressive and unique performances. At the same time, the closing of the festival as well as awarding prizes to art troupes with outstanding achievements also took place.
