During the resistance war against the French, the pagoda was burnt to the ground by the local people to prevent the enemy from setting up a post. The documents and artifacts were collected and placed in a building. In 1952, the local people built 3 small upper halls to worship Buddha. In 1965 - 1966, the people used the 3 houses on the West side as warehouses and the 3 houses on the East side as classrooms.
