Joining the Central delegation were Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee Le Minh Hung; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien; Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Mass Mobilization Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long.

Representatives from Bac Ninh province were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Dao Hong Lan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Quoc Chung; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; and former leaders of the province over the years; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; Permanent the People's Council, the People's Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee and leaders of a number of departments and branches.

At the meeting, Secretary Dao Hong Lan briefed on the outstanding achievements of Bac Ninh province in 2021 and after 25 years of re-establishing the province as well as orientations and key tasks in 2022 and the following years.

Specifically, the average growth rate for the period 1997-2021 reached 13.9%/year; Gross Domestic Regional Product in 2021 reached VND 133.6 trillion and 23.8 times higher than in 1997, accounting for 2.71% of the country's GDP, up 6.9% compared to 2020, ranking 13th in the country. GRDP per capita reached VND 155.6 million, ranking 4th in the country. The economic structure continued to shift towards industrialization and modernization: Industry and construction accounted for 77.3%; services at 16.1%; agriculture, forestry and fishery at 2.7%. State budget revenue in 2021 reached VND 33,260 billion and 168 times higher than in 1997, exceeding 19.5% of the estimate.

Per capita income in 2021 reached nearly 5.9 million VND/month, 24.7 times higher than in 1997; the rate of poor households decreased to 1.15% (according to the new standard). Political security, social order and safety are maintained. The work of building the Party, the government, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations has been strengthened and consolidated.

In particular, the province has taken strong and flexible moves in response to the COVID-19 pandemic last year so as to swiftly revitalize production and business activities and adapt to the new normal, Lan added.

General Secretary Trong congratulated and praised the efforts and the achievements of Bac Ninh’s the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Ninh province in the past 25 years, especially in 2021.

Trong asked the province to continue upholding its glorious traditions so as to build an increasingly clean and strong Party organization and political system and become an exemplary Party organization of the entire nation; focus on grasping and propagating the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and the Resolution of 20th Provincial Party Congress; making the programs, plans and schemes to promote the potentials and advantages of the province; promoting the improvement of business investment environment; improving productivity, quality and competitiveness of the economy.

He underlined that economic development must be promoted in tandem with cultural and social development, especially the maintenance of local cultural values as well as the country’s advanced culture deeply imbued with the national identity

At present, all-level Party committees, authorities, and organizations in Bac Ninh need to work to ensure a merry Tet for all residents, including revolution contributors, disadvantaged and low-income households, and workers, he added.

He expressed his belief that the province’s Party organization, administration, and people will stay united to step up reforms while achieving and surpassing the targets set at the 20th provincial Party Congress in order to secure sustainable development.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary Dao Hong Lan thanked for the attention and support of the Party Central Committee, especially General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Bac Ninh’s Party Committee, government and people would follow directives of the General Secretary to apply in the plans and programs, contributing to make Bac Ninh's development more and more comprehensive and build Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city in the coming years.
