Provincial Farmers’ Union launches Tet tree planting in Giap Thin Spring 2024

(BNP) - On March 8, the Provincial Farmers’ Union organized a launching and departure ceremony of “Tet tree planting for eternal gratitude to Uncle Ho” in Giap Thin Spring 2024 to welcome the Farmers’ Congress at all levels, term 2023-2028 in Hoan Son commune, Tien Du district.

Participants at the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mrs. Bui Thi Thom, Vice Chairwoman of the Central Vietnam Farmers’ Union; Mrs. Tran Thi Van, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and Tien Du district; Farmers’ Unions of districts, towns, cities as well as a large number of officials and union members in Hoan Son commune.

Until now, all levels of Farmers’ Unions in the province have planted more than 302,000 green trees of all kinds; launched the campaign “Clean the fields”, model “Fields without pesticide packaging”, movement “No plastic waste”; mobilized officials and members to actively participate in cleaning roads, villages and homes; and built clean and environmentally friendly production and farming models, etc.

In response to President Ho Chi Minh’s call for “Tet tree planting”, the Prime Minister’s program to plant 1 billion green trees in the 2021-2025 period and the emulation to celebrate the success of the Farmers’ Congress at all levels, term 2023-2028, in 2024, all levels of Farmers’ Unions in the province strive to plant 74,000 new green trees of all kinds. At the same time, the Unions continue to build new development plans for the “Farmers’ tree line” work in localities.

At the ceremony, the leaders and delegates planted 120 Golden oak trees on the Noi Due-Tri Phuong inter-commune road, and the section passing through Hoan Son commune, Tien Du district.

Also at the program, the Provincial Farmer’s Union organized the signing of an emulation covenant to take part in building new and improved rural areas between the Farmers’ Unions of districts, towns and cities in 2024.

On this occasion, the Provincial Farmers’ Union presented gifts to 16 students in difficult circumstances and 45 poor households in Hoan Son commune, Tien Du district.
