Provincial People's Committee takes urgent measures for COVID-19 control

At the conference, leaders of the province and functional departments exchanged and discussed urgent measures to respond to COVID-19 epidemic with a focus on making a plan to cope with 5 levels of the disease; reviewing situation and ensuring human resources and medical equipment for the epidemic prevention and control; supervising health of patients and medical staff at Bach Mai Hospital; setting up checkpoints at national and provincial roads to control in-and-out vehicles; mobilizing forces to participate in the epidemic prevention and control…
Delivering at the conference, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang emphasized that “decisive” time for the fight against the pandemic shall take place in the next 15 days. Therefore, the Chairwoman requested agencies, units and localities to strictly follow the Prime Minister's Directive No. 15/CT-TTg and 16/CT-TTg on taking urgent measures for Covid-19 control, especially, the social isolation for 15 days; temporary suspension of non-essential businesses and services.
Members of the Provincial Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control regularly update the epidemic situation to timely give proper advice and guidance in order to minimize SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Ms. Giang assigned Department of Health to coordinate with units and localities to complete the scenario of coping with 5 levels of the epidemic as well as review and add dormitories of universities, colleges and private medical examination and treatment facilities in the province to make isolation areas and field hospitals; make a list of volunteer medical forces for epidemic control participation when necessary.
She agreed with the proposal of the functional agencies to set up checkpoints at national and provincial roads and stop the operation of cross-river wharves. Provincial Public Security coordinates with Department of Transport and Department of Health to arrange forces on shift at the points to control and propagandize restrict movement. Localities urgently study, set up and mobilize forces for control in their area, she added.
