Talk show “Preserving intangible cultural heritage” held
(BNP) - The Bac Ninh Provincial Center for Relic Conservation and Tourism Promotion and FPT Polytechnic College Hanoi jointly organized a talk show themed “Preserving intangible cultural heritage - Meeting and interacting with Bac Ninh Quan Ho artists”.

Participants at the program were leaders of the Bac Ninh Provincial Center for Relic Conservation and Tourism Promotion; FPT Polytechnic College Hanoi; Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk artists as well as a large number of students from the Hotel, Tourism and Restaurant major at FPT Polytechnic College Hanoi.
At the program, People’s Artist Nguyen Thi Them and Merited Artist Nguyen Thi Sang exchanged and shared: the origin and culture of Quan Ho folk songs; Quan Ho singers’ costumes; the meaning of “betel in form of phoenix wings”; how to wear a crow’s beak head scarf; especially the issue of preserving intangible cultural heritage, and so on.
The artisans and artists performed the smooth and loving Quan Ho folk songs such as “Sitting next to a peach tree”, “See you again”, “Fragrant flowers and butterflies”, “Searching in the afternoon of Lim festival”. At the same time, students had opportunities to interact with Quan Ho artists and artisans.
Through the program, the artisans’ exchanges and sharing contribute to inspiring young people to love the nation’s cultural values and the intangible cultural heritage value of Bac Ninh’s Quan Ho folk songs. This is also an opportunity for Bac Ninh tourism industry in particular and the country in general to exploit and develop to diversify products.
