Thap Dinh Festival in Giap Thin 2024 opens

(BNP) - On the morning of March 15 (i.e., the 6th day of the second lunar month), at the Cultural and Historical Relic Complex of Bao Thap village, Dong Cuu commune, the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Binh district organized the opening ceremony of the traditional Thap Dinh festival in Giap Thin 2024.

Thap Dinh Festival is a traditional festival of 10 villages in the Thien Thai mountain region (Gia Binh) that has existed for a long time and has been passed down through the centuries until today. The festival is a typical community spiritual cultural activity expressing gratitude and commemorating General Doan Cong - Dao Nuong.

According to tradition, on the 6th day of the second lunar month in the years of the Monkey, Rat, and Dragon, the people of 10 villages open the Thap Dinh festival and organize a large-scale procession.

This year's Thap Dinh Festival is held on a district scale to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the re-establishment of Gia Binh district; and the 30th anniversary of Le Van Thinh Temple being recognized as a national historical and cultural relic; 20 anniversary of Bao Thap communal house and 10 anniversary of Doan Cong - Dao Nuong temple have been ranked as provincial-level historical and cultural relics.

This year, Thap Dinh Festival takes place from March 14 to 16 (i.e., from February 5 to 7 of the lunar calendar).
