Yoga performance held in Bac Ninh

(BNP) - On the afternoon of June 19, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh City and the Embassy of India in Vietnam jointly organized a Yoga performance to celebrate International Yoga Day 2024 (Performance) at the International Friendship Park.

Attending the program were Dr. Monica Sharma, Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Center, Embassy of India, ​​Hanoi; Mr. Chu Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh City People's Committee; leaders of the provincial departments and branches, along with a large number of trainers and instructors from yoga clubs in Bac Ninh city.

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh City People's Committee Chu Thanh Hai emphasized that Bac Ninh City is the economic, political and cultural center of Bac Ninh province. In addition, Bac Ninh city is always interested in developing a career in physical training and sports. Currently, Bac Ninh city has 331 sports clubs, among them, there are 16 Yoga clubs with nearly 500 members.

The Yoga performance between Bac Ninh city and the Embassy of India to celebrate International Yoga Day aims to connect Yoga clubs and members in Bac Ninh city, thereby, promoting and spreading the Yoga practice movement in the community.

Speaking at the program, Dr. Monica Sharma expressed his pleasure to participate in the event in Bac Ninh city. At the same time, he introduced an overview of Indian Yoga and the benefits that Yoga brings to the health and spiritual lives of practitioners.

International Yoga Day was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. This is an opportunity to honor an ancient Indian sport. The Yoga performance is not only an opportunity for both sides to exchange and share experiences about Yoga, but also an opportunity to promote the image of Bac Ninh city and Bac Ninh province in general, thereby contributing to fostering good friendship and solidarity between the Vietnam and India countries.
