Bac Ninh Tourism
Bac Ninh province of today has many strengths for developing cultural spiritual tourism thanks to the depth in culture and history, a purely Vietnamese tradition of religion and faith, manifested by thousands of vestiges, landscapes, memorial buildings, festivals, legends, folk arts, customs… which are still preserved everywhere in the province
According to statistical datum, at present, there are 1,558 relics in Bac Ninh province, including 194 National relics, 394 provincial relics, 8 groups of National Treasures, 4 Special national relics, namely: Dau pagoda, But Thap Pagoda, Phat Tich pagoda, Temple and Tombs of Kings of Ly Dynasty… Closely associated with each relic are special historical events and stories, includes: Temple and Tomb of Kinh Duong Vuong King – place of worshipping Vietnam’s ancestor, known as father of Lac Long Quan or grandfather of Hung Kings; Temple and Tomb of Cao Lo Vuong – place of worshipping Cao Lo Vuong General who had great contribution in designing and constructing Co Loa Wall and creating the Magic cross – bow for Thuc An Duong Vuong King to protect the homeland, and was considered to be the Nation first Creator of military weapons; To pagoda – place of worshipping Buddha and Mother Buddha Man Nuong who is considered the founder of “Tu Thap” (four female gods in Vietnam religion); Dau pagoda – known as the Primary Buddha Center of Vietnam; Temple and Tomb of eight Ly Kings – who established the Dai Viet civilization and found capital city Thang Long – Hanoi; Lady King Temple where worships Quan Ho ancestor; Le Van Thinh Temple, where worships First doctoral candidate of Vietnam; Memorial building of Nguyen Van Cu – the youngest General Secretary of Communist Party of Vietnam (period 1938 – 1940)…
Especially, the province is also the homeland of four intangible cultural heritage recognized by the UNESCO in The World Cultural Heritage List, including: Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk singing, Tru singing, religion of Mother Goddess worship, traditional folk game “Tug of war” in Hu Chap village. Standing out of these, Bac Ninh Quan Ho folk singing is always the pride of the local people, also be considered the distinct cultural character that attracts foreign and domestic visitors, as well as a factor for building specific tourism products which owns vantages of Kinh Bac land.
Bac Ninh province is the homeland of nearly 600 traditional festivals taking place all year around. Each festival is a living museum on traditional culture which features characters of national culture with religious rituals and folk games. Traditional festivals in Bac Ninh province are special precious heritages, an attraction with domestic and foreign travelers.
