Ren Communal House and Temple receives Heritage certificate

(BNP) – On December 27, Canh Hung commune, Tien Du received Certificate of National Heritage for Ren Communal House and Temple.

Provincial leaders present flowers to congratulate officials and the people of Canh Hung commune.

Ren village has two pagodas built outside the dyke called Trong Pagoda and Ngoai Pagoda. In 1980, the people rebuilt the pagoda into the dyke and named it Hung Phuc Tu. Since its inception up to now, Ren pagoda has been a center of cultural, religious activities of the village and commune community. The pagoda is the place to keep the tradition of worshiping Mau.

Ren Communal House is the place of worshiping General Doan Thuong. He is a talented General in protecting the people of Hong Chau region. After his death, he was conferred the title of the highest god Dong Hai Dai Vuong by kings of Tran, Le, and Nguyen dynasties.

It was also built on the outside of the dyke. During the war against the French, it was completely dismantled. In 1998, with the determination of the local authorities and people, the communal house was restored to its present position.

Until now, Ren Communal House and Temple also preserve the system of extremely valuable antiques. In particular, the pagoda currently preserves the bronze bell of Hung Phuc meditating on the 27th Canh Hung year...

Ren Communal House and Temple were recognized as Cultural and Historical Heritage at the provincial level on February 9th, 2015 by the Provincial People’s Committee in 1998. On November 4, 2020, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism decided to rank the national monument for Ren Communal House and Temple, Canh Hung commune, Tien Du district.
