Since its investment in Bac Ninh, Samsung has grown remarkably in revenue, especially in smart devices, chips and semiconductor materials. The Bac Ninh factory is still one of the Group’s global strategic production bases.
Amkor is a pioneer in global semiconductor manufacturing, established both in the United States and Korea. The semiconductor material production and testing assembly project at Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park in Bac Ninh has a total investment capital of USD 1.6 billion until 2035, covering an area of about 23 hectares. Phase 1, the Group invested about USD 530 million, focusing on providing advanced system-in-package (SiP) assembly and testing solutions for the world’s leading electronics and semiconductor manufacturing companies. After a trial year, the Company officially went into operation, demonstrating its effectiveness. It is oriented to become the Group’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturing center in the world.
In his opening remarks, Minister Nguyen Chi Dung called the event a significant milestone in Vietnam's efforts to integrate into the global value chain of the semiconductor industry - an industry regarded as the “heart” of modern technology and a foundation for the digital economy.
During the SEMIExpo, seminars, forums, exhibitions, business connection programs and industry connection sessions took place such as: Forum “Elevating Vietnam in the global semiconductor supply chain”; Workshop “Global semiconductor equipment market: What opportunities for Vietnam’s manufacturing industry”; Forum “Developing the field of design, packaging and testing of microchips in Southeast Asia”; Forum “Global cooperation in developing human resources for the semiconductor industry”; Training program for Vietnamese students, etc.
