Expanded Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition Giap Thin Spring 2024 opens
(BNP) – On March 13, at the Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater (Viem Xa area, Hoa Long ward), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism held the opening ceremony of the Expanded Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition Giap Thin Spring in 2024.

Participants at the opening ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent People's Council, and Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and localities; Bac Giang province’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and a large number of musicians, actors, musicians, artisans, people and tourists.
This year's expanded Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition takes place over 3 days (from March 12–14), attracting the participation of over 600 artisans, actors, musicians, brothers, and sisters of 9 public art troupes come from cultural, sports, and media centers and 62 Quan Ho villages. Especially after 27 years of re-establishing the province, for the first time the competition had the participation of the mass art troupe and artists from Bac Giang province.
The competition includes 2 main contents: Quan Ho music stage and Quan Ho singing and answering. Quan Ho music stage has 9 art troupes from 8 districts, towns and cities participating.
The singing and answering competition field attracted 191 couples from two provinces of Bac Ninh and Bac Giang, including 28 couples competing for 150 sentences and 163 couples competing for 50 sentences.
The expanded Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Competition Giap Thin Spring in 2024 is part of cultural, sports and tourism activities to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring and the country's innovation.
This is also one of a series of cultural activities aimed at celebrating the 15th anniversary of Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Songs being registered by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, thereby, continuing to affirming the development and strong vitality of Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Heritage rich in cultural identity.
