Khu Son Communal House, Hap Linh ward

(BNP) - Khu Son communal house, Hap Linh ward, Bac Ninh city was built during the Le dynasty (18th century). In 1947, due to the requirements of the scorched earth resistance war, the communal house was completely destroyed. In 1993, local people rebuilt the communal house on the old ground. The communal house worships Cao Son Dai Vuong, the tutelary god who had the merit of defeating the Di invaders in the Southeast and secretly supported the following dynasties to maintain the imperial career.

The communal house is located in the middle of the village, facing south, surrounded by a residential area. The communal house grounds are surrounded by a wall system, there are many ancient trees creating a solemn and ancient atmosphere inside the yard.

The current work has an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter with a 5-compartment Great Communal Hall.

The communal house still preserves typical artifacts: the 1938 declaration of the divine relics, 7 ordinations of the Nguyen dynasty (copies), the altar, the memorial tablet, the altar table, the incense burner, the parallel sentences, the horizontal lacquered boards, the worship cranes, etc.

The traditional festival is held on January 4 (lunisolar calendar). The festival lasts for 2 days.

After the ceremony is the festival with folk games such as pot smashing, blind man’s bluff, Quan Ho singing during the day, Cheo singing in the evening, and cultural exchange in the area.

The communal house was ranked as a historical and cultural relic by the Provincial People’s Committee - Decision No. 150/QD-UBND dated January 24, 2006.
