Organize 10th anniversary of the recognition of Quan ho Bac Ninh as an intangible cultural heritage
(BNP) - Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh has signed the plan No. 308/KH-UBND on organizing the festival "Arrive in Quan ho land - 2019" and the 10th anniversary of the recognition of Quan ho Bac Ninh as a representative intangible cultural heritage of the humanity by UNESCO.
A performance in the art program "Âm vang miền Quan họ” (Echo of Quan ho land) on the occasion of the 185th anniversary of establishment and 20th anniversary of re-establishment of Bac Ninh province.
According to the plan, the festival program "Arrive in Quan họ land - 2019" and the 10th anniversary of the recognition of Quan ho Bac Ninh as a representative intangible cultural heritage of the humanity by UNESCO will take place from 13 – 28 February 2019.
It includes the key activities namely celebrating the 10th anniversary of the recognition of Quan ho Bac Ninh folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of the humanity by UNESCO with the theme "Rạng rỡ miền Quan họ” (The radiance of Quan ho land) held at 8 pm on February 23rd, 2019 at the Kinh Bac Cultural Center Square. The program will take 90 minutes and broadcast live on VTV1 of Vietnam Television, the Radio and Television Station of Bac Ninh province and some neighboring provinces.
The final contest of Miss Kinh Bac 2019 with the theme "Duyên dáng Quan họ” (Charm of Quan họ people) will be taken place at 8 pm on February 20th 2019 at the Kinh Bac Cultural Center. The art and cultural exchange program "Tứ hải giao tình" (The meeting of four oceans) between local and international art delegations will be held at 8 pm on February 25th 2019 at Kinh Bac Cultural Center. These programs are broadcasted live on the Television and Radio Stations of Bac Ninh province and some neighboring provinces.
In addition, the program of Quan họ singing on the boat will be held at 8 pm on February 24th 2019 and from 4.30 pm to 6.00 pm on 22, 25, 26, 27 February 2019 on Nguyen Phi Y Lan lake (in front of the Provincial People's Council - Provincial People's Committee).
Furthermore, a series of cultural, sports and tourist activities will be organized simultaneously in the districts, town and city such as the Quan ho singing contest at Ky Hoi Spring 2019, honoring collectives and individuals who have made great contributions to preserving and promoting the values of folk songs, the Spring Newspaper Festival 2019, Youth camp, exhibitions of gems, stone, jewelry...; displaying material and artifacts with the theme "Quan ho Bac Ninh folk songs - from the source to the contemporary", organizing the Quan ho singing in hosting house; the traditional Rowing contest on the Cau river for celebration of the 1,000th bird-anniversary of General Ly Thuong Kiet (1019 - 2019),…
Performance of Dong Ngu village’s water puppetry; International Women's Volleyball Championship - LienVietPostBank 2019 Cup (or Kinh Bac Women's Basketball Championship); some folk games; free tours by bus; FAMTRIP with the topic "Exploring the Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh countryside"; the exhibition "Bac Ninh - Destination of cultural, spiritual tourism, festivals, culinary and traditional villages"... will be held in the area of Nguyen Phi Ỷ Lan park, Ly Thai To road, Kinh Bac Cultural Center, Nguyen Van Cu Park and other historical and cultural sites and villages in the province.
The program aims to evaluate the results of 10 years of implementation of commitments of Bac Ninh province with UNESCO in carrying out tasks and solutions to protect the Bac Ninh Quan họ folksongs. At the same time, it tends to continue promoting and introducing the quintessence, unique values of Bac Ninh folk songs in particular and the cultural history of Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac region in general to domestic and international friends, contributing to building Bac Ninh province to develop quickly and sustainably, aiming to become a centrally-run city in 2022.
