Prepare dossier to request Lim festival, Cheo art and Dong Ngu water puppetry as National Intangible Cultural Heritage

(BNP) - To serve the management, protection and promotion of intangible cultural heritage in the province during the 2023-2025 period, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism builds a scientific dossier of intangible cultural heritage of Lim festival, Cheo art of Bac Ninh province and Dong Ngu water puppetry to propose inclusion in the 2024 National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.

The investigation, research, and preparation of scientific dossier aim to collect and compile all documents, images and artifacts related to heritage, on that basis to conduct research and identify the overall value system of heritage; evaluate the current state of heritage in the past and present to see the value, vitality and ability to maintain, conserve, and the risk of extinction of heritage as well as its impact and influence on the life of the contemporary community.

The preparation of dossier is conducted on the basis of actual research (fieldwork), collecting information and documents related to the Lim festival, Cheo art of Bac Ninh province and Dong Ngu water puppetry, and completing the scientific dossier in accordance with Circular No. 04/2010/TT-BVHTTDL dated December 30, 2010 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Once completed, the scientific dossier of heritage sites will make an important contribution to organizing, managing and proposing a number of solutions to preserve and promote values ​​appropriate to the characteristics of each heritage.
