Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Forum held
(BNP) - On July 24, in Hanoi, the Association for Liaison with overseas Vietnamese, the Vietnam Innovation and Start-up Ecosystem, the Korea & Vietnam Economic Cultural Association and 30 Korean Industry Associations jointly held a Vietnam-Korea Cooperation Forum in Hanoi and the northern provinces. After 30 years of diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-South Korea partnership has improved in all spheres, especially in trade and investment.
In the field of foreign investment, Korea has always been the number one investor in Vietnam, making a very important and effective contribution to the economic development of Vietnam. Investment from South Korean investors have moved beyond major cities such as Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, and spread out to other localities and also diverse economic sectors
At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Province People’s Committee Ngo Tan Phuong said the locality is home to 590 foreign projects with a combined investment capital of $14 billion. Among the lot, Samsung is the largest investor that has contributed a major part to the province’s export turnover of $45 billion and created millions of jobs for the locals.
“Authorities in Bac Ninh stay focused on addressing concerns of foreign businesses to ensure their long-term success here,” Phuong said.
At the end of the forum, a signing ceremony of cooperation between Vietnamese and Korean agencies, organizations, associations and businesses took place.
