(BNP) – On the morning of March 28th, at the Muong Thanh Hotel (Bac Giang Ward), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the 2026 Bac Ninh Tourism Destination Promotion Conference.

The signing ceremony marked a cooperation agreement between tourism businesses in Bac Ninh and travel agencies and service providers.

Bac Ninh hopes to welcome 6.5–7 million visitors in 2026, including roughly 420,000 foreign visitors, building on the positive growth of 6.3 million visitors in 2025. Total tourism revenue is expected to reach approximately VND 6,600 billion, further solidifying its position as a destination in the Capital Region. By 2030, the province hopes to have at least one national-level tourist region, two provincial-level tourist areas, and roughly ten recognized tourist locations in addition to welcoming about 10 million tourists and earning about VND 10,000 billion.

To achieve these goals, Bac Ninh province is orienting its development towards a comprehensive range of key tourism products, including cultural, spiritual, and festival tourism; handicraft village and intangible heritage tourism; eco-tourism and community-based tourism; MICE tourism; and night-time economy linked to Kinh Bac cultural experiences.

At the conference, representatives from travel agencies shared ideas aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Bac Ninh tourism, such as: perfecting distinctive tourism products, increasing experiential value and extending the length of stay for tourists; and proposing to strengthen linkages between travel businesses and tourist areas, attractions, craft villages, and accommodation establishments.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Ha Van Sieu, highly appreciated the local efforts in organizing promotional activities, while emphasizing the need to reassess the potential, opportunities, and development orientation of tourism in the new context. Vietnam's tourism sector has been noted for its strong recovery, with impressive growth in visitor numbers and revenue, aiming for in-depth development, improved quality, and increased added value in 2026.

Bac Ninh is identified as having significant advantages in cultural resources, notably Quan Ho folk songs, a system of historical sites, festivals, and traditional craft villages.

Based on this, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration proposes that Bac Ninh needs to innovate its development thinking, build a tourism ecosystem linked to cultural values, promote professional marketing, apply digital technology, and position itself as a destination brand. At the same time, the locality needs to improve mechanisms, mobilize social resources, and develop high-quality human resources. The Vietnam National Tourism Administration is committed to continuing to support Bac Ninh in developing tourism rapidly and sustainably.

Within the framework of the conference, delegates held a signing ceremony for cooperation agreements between tourism businesses in Bac Ninh and travel agencies and service providers. The signing aims to concretize the province's tourism development goals, while also creating a foundation to promote business linkages, attract a stable source of tourists, and develop a sustainable market in the future.

On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation to exchange, promote, and showcase the unique culture, tourism, and arts of Bac Ninh province and Jeonbuk Special Autonomous Province (South Korea).
