(BNP) - On the afternoon of November 6, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son chaired a working session with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DOCST) to grasp the operational situation of the public service units under the Department since the merger and discuss leadership solutions and direction for the implementation of tasks in the coming time.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism reported on the organizational structure as well as the results of the department's activities after the merger. Specifically, in the cultural field, the units organized hundreds of exhibitions, exhibitions, propaganda and art performances to serve the political tasks of the province. Bac Ninh Cheo Theater organized 125 performances, of which 25 were contract performances with revenue, totaling over VND 690 million. Bac Ninh Quan Ho Folk Song Theater organized 88 performances, of which 03 artist groups participated in promoting Quan Ho in Australia, China and Germany.
Bac Ninh Center for Culture and Tourism Promotion organized 94 mobile exhibitions and 360 music and dance performances, contributing to promoting the image of Bac Ninh to the public.
In the field of cultural heritage, in the first 10 months of the year, the province had 16 relics ranked at provincial level, 05 cultural heritages were registered. Currently, Bac Ninh is in the top group of the country with 24 national tangible cultural heritages, 33 national intangible heritages, of which 07 heritages are recognized by UNESCO.
In the field of physical education and sports, Bac Ninh hosted 07 national sports tournaments, 02 international tournaments; 02 sports training and competition centers trained more than 800 athletes, won 680 medals of all kinds, including 99 international medals.
In the tourism sector, the whole province welcomed 5.73 million visitors in the first 10 months of 2025, including 375 thousand international visitors, with estimated revenue reaching VND 5,500 billion, exceeding the annual plan by 102.5%. The industry is implementing the movement "Journey in the footsteps of the Buddha King" and building tours connecting Hanoi - Bac Ninh - Quang Ninh.
To implement the tasks in the coming time, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed and recommended the Provincial People's Committee to invest in building the Bac Ninh Provincial Museum (new) in the period 2026-2030 and the Provincial Sports Complex; supplementing facilities for the Sports Training and Competition Center, building dormitories and specialized training rooms for athletes; allowing the organization of free tours to serve the people associated with historical sites, scenic spots, and spiritual tourism areas; allowing the Bac Ninh Cheo Theater to recruit more artists with household registration outside the province, meeting the requirements of professional art development; organizing the Festival "Back to Bac Ninh Heritage" in 2026, associated with the Bac Giang Culture - Tourism Week (old), creating a mark of regional connectivity.
During the meeting, delegates focused on analyzing and clarifying existing problems, difficulties and obstacles, and discussed solutions and contributed ideas to the recommendations and proposals of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to improve the effectiveness of the cultural sector in the coming time.
Concluding the working session, Standing Vice Chairman Mai Son acknowledged and commended the encouraging results and achievements that the Cultural sector has achieved since the province's re-establishment.
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, the Standing Vice Chairman requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to focus on raising awareness and responsibility of cadres, civil servants and public employees about the position and role of culture in sustainable development; building a team of qualified and capable cadres; being proactive in planning and developing the sector; ensuring the preservation of cultural space, promoting Kinh Bac cultural values associated with the development of eco-tourism and experiential tourism; strengthening the conservation and promotion of cultural heritage values, prioritizing resources for the restoration and embellishment of degraded relics; promoting research, archaeology, digitization of library documents; expanding cultural and artistic activities to serve the people, encouraging the socialization of cultural activities...
