(BNP) - On the afternoon of November 21, the Steering Committee for investment and construction of projects related to Gia Binh International Airport in Bac Ninh province (Steering Committee) held a conference to assess the situation and results of site clearance compensation for the Gia Binh International Airport project. Mr. Nguyen Hong Thai, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the SC chaired the conference.

Also attending the conference were Mr. Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Steering Committee; Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities, relevant units and investors.
The total area of land clearance for the Gia Binh International Airport project is nearly 2,000 hectares, located in the communes of Gia Binh, Nhan Thang, Luong Tai and Lam Thao. Up to now, localities have declared more than 6,690/7,980 households; paid in advance over VND 2,400 billion to nearly 4,830 households, equivalent to 533.6 hectares; and at the same time, inventoried about 7,500 graves to serve the relocation work.

The land records for Gia Binh International Airport projects in Trung Chinh and Luong Tai communes show a total area of 263.8 hectares for resettlement, relocation of cemeteries, graveyards, and religious buildings.
In Gia Binh commune, the resettlement area covers 02 areas. People have met to make a plan, which includes reviewing, assigning owners, declaring, and inventorying; preparing the resettlement project's land acquisition and clearance dossier, collecting cadastral records, reviewing data, serving land declaration and inventorying, and developing a provisional plan.

In Dai Lai commune, the cemetery planning area is about 20 hectares. About VND 14.5 billion has been paid to 52 households/77 plots of land with about 3.3 hectares.

Speaking at the conference, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Pham Hoang Son affirmed that the whole province has focused on implementing the project to Gia Binh International Airport. During the implementation process, all levels, sectors, localities and related units have maintained the pace, progress, high determination and unified action for the benefit of the people.
On the government side, the province is committed to resolving issues related to project site clearance as quickly as possible, working continuously, including holidays, to meet requirements.

Concluding the conference, Secretary Nguyen Hong Thai requested the entire political system to focus on the area serving phase 1, the plans, and the work to be public, transparent, and for the benefit of the people. He noted that it is necessary to urgently clear agricultural land to implement the project to welcome the first international delegation to serve the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum Summit in 2027.
