(BNP) - On the afternoon of July 15, General Secretary To Lam and the Central working delegation visited and presented gifts at the Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center (Ninh Xa ward, Bac Ninh province) on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - 2025).

Joining the delegation were comrades: Le Minh Hung, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Commission; General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Minister of National Defense; General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security ; Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Le Thanh Long, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Prime Minister; and comrades of the Party Central Committee, leaders of departments, ministries, branches, central agencies and Bac Ninh province.
Receiving the delegation were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Gau; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Huong; Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Viet Oanh.

Currently, the Center is nurturing, treating and implementing policies and regimes for 84 seriously wounded and sick soldiers of level 1/4 from 13 provinces and cities nationwide. Of these, 51 wounded and sick soldiers were injured during the resistance war against the US; 33 wounded and sick soldiers were injured during the period of protecting the northern and southwestern borders, volunteer soldiers in Laos, Cambodia and during the period of building and protecting the country.

He extended his profound gratitude, sincere affection, and deep admiration to the veterans who had fought bravely and sacrificed their youth and bodies for the nation's independence and freedom. Despite enduring the long-term physical effects of war, they have maintained their virtues, will, faith and optimism, serving as shining examples for younger generations to respect, learn from, and follow, he said.
Politburo members and leaders of departments and ministries present gifts to the Center.
The Party chief commended the tireless dedication and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the staff, doctors, and nurses of the center, who have silently brought warmth, safety, and the highest quality of care to veterans. He also acknowledged the selfless devotion of their spouses and family members who have stayed with the war veterans at the center, giving up personal pursuits to provide continuous support and companionship through illness and injury.

General Secretary Lam called on Party committees, authorities, and mass organisations in Bac Ninh province to further improve both the material and spiritual life of war invalids, sick soldiers, and national contributors. He stressed that, beyond care and support, it is necessary to create conditions for them to continue contributing and to spread their resilience and positive values within the community.

The General Secretary hoped that wounded and sick soldiers would continue to uphold the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, live happily and healthily, continue to follow, accompany and support the cause of national construction and development, and be a shining example for the community and descendants to follow in terms of indomitable and resilient patriotism.
On this occasion, General Secretary To Lam and representatives of the leaders of the Central Committee, ministries, and branches, and Bac Ninh province presented gifts to the wounded and sick soldiers being treated at the Center; representatives of 5 families of martyrs who were awarded the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate by the Prime Minister in June 2025 (5 wounded and sick soldiers being treated at the Center who died due to special relapse of their wounds); and the staff of Thuan Thanh War Invalids Nursing Center.
Previously, General Secretary To Lam and leaders of central ministries, branches and Bac Ninh province offered incense at the Memorial House for Meritorious People in the Center's campus to commemorate the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation.
