The Seminar was co-hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Switzerland and the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province to promote investment and commerce in Bac Ninh province. More than 30 businesses from Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and other nations attended the Seminar.

Speaking at the Seminar, Vice Chairman Khai welcomed and thanked the investors for spending their time to attend the Seminar as well as research environment in Bac Ninh province. At the same time, he briefed on the province’s significant achievements in socioeconomic development. Bac Ninh has essentially transformed from a purely agricultural province to a modern industrial province, with many socioeconomic indices reaching the top of the country, following 25 years of re-establishment. With an occupancy rate of roughly 58.6%, the province has now 24 investment projects to build and develop infrastructure of industrial parks, of which, 16 projects have been put into operation and 8 projects 8 projects are being invested and built. To protect the safety of people and workers, industrial parks are outfitted with synchronized and modern infrastructure that is linked to social infrastructure, Khai said.

In terms of foreign investment attraction, the province has issued investment registration to 1,975 valid projects from 39 countries and territories, with a total investment capital of about USD 25 billion. Among which, there were 04 projects of Switzerland with a total investment of about USD 109.34 million, investing in the fields of manufacturing power distribution solutions, such as medium-voltage switchgear; production of additives used in construction and mechanical processing, metal coating...

In the coming time, Bac Ninh province will focus on promoting cooperation with Swiss partners in particular and countries in the European region in general, particularly potential enterprises. Among which, the province hopes to attract green investment, high-tech industry, supporting industry, high-class service and commerce complexes, infrastructure investment projects, urban development, ecology, and so on.

At the seminar, Vice Chairman  Khai and leaders of provincial departments and sectors directly exchanged and shared information with interested investors about infrastructure of industrial zones and clusters; policies on the support and investment incentives; labor resources, etc.

The Vice Chairman affirmed that Bac Ninh province is always ready with the following conditions: clean premises, human resources as well as administrative reform to maximum support the investors investing in the province, thereby, making  Bac Ninh into the leading electronics manufacturing center in Vietnam, while also being the key driving force for economic growth with the Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone.
