Commencement of a high-tech waste incineration power plant in Que Vo district
(BNP) - On May 29, in Dong Sai village, Phu Lang commune, Que Vo district, the Groundbreaking ceremony of a high-tech waste incineration power plant took place.
Provincial leaders and delegates press the button to start construction of the factory.
The project of high-tech waste incineration plant invested by Thang Long Energy Environment Joint Stock Company with a total cost of nearly VND 1,400 billion, built on an area of 4,834 ha in Waste treatment planning area of the province located in Dong Sai village, Phu Lang commune, Que Vo district. This is the first generator of waste incinerators in Vietnam using the technology of input sorting garbage combined with circulating fluidized furnace of Finnish technology, which has been appraised and approved by Ministry of Science and Technology, permitting investors to apply in waste-to-energy projects in the Vietnam.
It is expected that by the end of 2020, the plant will go into commercial operation with a capacity of processing 500 tons of household waste/ day and night, power generation capacity of 11.7 MWe, contributing to solving completely the domestic and solid waste problem arising daily and still existing in the whole province. Especially with the technology of incineration and heat recovery for power generation, the plant will contribute to supply electricity to the National Grid in the future.
On behalf of provincial leaders, speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tien Nhuong highly appreciated efforts of investors and the close coordination of provincial departments and People's Committees of Que Vo district so that the project is able to be started according to the plan.
He stressed that, nowadays, Bac Ninh is considered a strongly developed locality, an industrial development center with many targets in the top ranking of the whole country. In addition to economic development, Bac Ninh has also faced environmental pollution issues, especially domestic solid waste pollution. Currently, every day, the province arises about 870 tons of domestic waste. It is estimated that by 2020, it will be up to 1,000 tons/day.
Permanent Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee said, in 2019, Bac Ninh province selected the theme "Bac Ninh acts for the clean environment", and approved the overall scheme of environmental protection in Bac Ninh province in the period of 2019 - 2025. Accordingly, the domestic solid waste treatment will be conducted at 03 high-tech waste incineration power plants in Que Vo, Thuan Thanh, Luong Tai districts and even started construction in 2019.
He proposed Thang Long Energy Environment JSC to coordinate with relevant units to urgently implement the project, regularly inspect, supervise and create favorable conditions in construction process so that the project will be completed and put into operation at the end of 2020.
