Festival of Dau Han communal house
(BNP) - Dau Han village in Hoa Long ward (Bac Ninh city) is an ancient village with a rich cultural history. Dau Han Communal House was built on a very large scale during the Le Trung Hung dynasty. It was restored during the Nguyen dynasty and since then, it has retained the beauty of its architecture.

According to the genealogy and ordination, this is the place of worship of Saint Tam Giang, who was instrumental in helping King Trieu Viet expel the Liang army to save the country in the 6th century. According to annual custom, on the 10th day of the 8th month (lunar calendar), Dau Han communal house holds a festival.
In the past, the village had a meeting to discuss, elect officials, assign tasks to the neighbors (East and West), and discuss work. At the festival, right from the 9th, the communal house was opened to pack worship items and fan flags. On the 10th day of the main festival, the villagers organize a procession of gods from temples and little temple (Bai Mia and Bai Nuoi little temples) to the village communal house to worship and celebrate. The sacrifice to God is a black pig cut into six pieces.
During the festival days, after the ceremony, there is a festival with many folk entertainment customs such as tuong, cheo, wrestling, tree swinging, duck catching, and especially the custom of Quan Ho singing. Dau Han village is also one of the 49 original Quan Ho villages of Kinh Bac-Bac Ninh.
Today, the festival of Dau Han communal house still retains the ancient rituals, the festival has many healthy and joyful cultural and artistic activities.
