Film week commemorating 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory

(BNP) - On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the Cinema Department organized "Film Week commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory" from May 24 to April 30, 2024 in Dien Bien Phu city, Dien Bien province.


 

The Opening Ceremony of the Film Week will take place solemnly at 7:30 p.m. on April 24, 2024 at Dien Bien Phu Cinema with 02 films ordered by the State: feature film “Dao, Pho and Piano" (Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano) - Screenwriter, Director, and Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son produced by Feature Film Joint Stock Company I in 2023 and the documentary "Dong Hanh Cung Lich Su" (Alongside with history) - Director, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Quang Tuan - Nguyen Anh Ngoc produced by Film Studio Company Limited Documents and Central Science in 2024.

From April 25 to 30, 2024, at Dien Bien Phu Cinema, the feature film "Tieu Doi Hoa Hong" "Rose Squad" (People's Army Cinema produced in 2021) and the documentary "Ky Uc Nhung Nguoi Truyen Lua" (Memories of those who spread the fire) (People's Army Cinema produced in 2019) and 2 films "Peach, Pho and Piano", and "Accompanying History" will be shown.

Within the framework of Film Week, the Cinema Department will organize an exchange program between the film crew "Peach, Pho and Piano" and the film "Rose Squad" and officials and soldiers of Regiment 82, Division 355 - Military Region II at 7:30 p.m. on April 25, 2024 and officials, teachers, staff, and students of Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted at 7:30 p.m. on April 26, 2024.

Artists participating in the exchange include: The film crew "Rose Squad" has Major Nguyen Quang Quyet - director; Captain Pham Thi Hoai Thuong - screenwriter; actress Thuc Anh as Phuong Chi; Actor Phuong Nam plays Company Commander Hoang; actress Thuy Tien as Cam Tu; actress Khanh Ly as Dieu Hoa.

The film crew "Peach, Pho and Piano" includes screenwriter, director, Meritorious Artist Phi Tien Son; Deputy Director Nguyen Van Ton; filming by Hoang Lam; Art design Vu Viet Hung; Kim Chi makeup; and actors: People's Artist Tran Luc, People's Artist Trung Hieu, Meritorious Artist Nguyet Hang, Anh Tuan, actor Doan Quoc Dam and actress Cao Thi Thuy Linh.

Film Week also has the participation of representatives from film production companies whose films are screened during Film Week. Before the opening of Film Week, film artists will attend the incense offering ceremony at the Martyrs' Temple - Dien Bien Phu Battlefield at 4:00 p.m. on April 24, 2024.

In particular, in the series of activities at Film Week, the Cinema Department will introduce and display a number of documentary photos of the documentary film and photography crew participating in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign in the lobby of the Dien Bien Phu Cinema. At the same time, the Cinema Department will present this set of documentary photos to the Dien Bien Phu Victory Museum. This is a meaningful activity, recognizing the valuable historical contributions of the first generation officials and artists of Vietnamese Revolutionary Cinema who participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, writing heroic pages of history of the nation through images, contributing to the great victory of the Vietnamese Revolution./.
