Hue city needs comprehensive program and project to preserve heritage and develop economy

Delegates discuss at Group 13.

The delegates expressed their high agreement on the establishment of Hue City under the Central Government. NA deputies at Group 13 (including Lang Son, Bac Ninh, Hau Giang, Dak Lak provinces) said that the establishment has full political, legal and practical bases.

Delegate Nguyen Thi Kim Anh from NA Delegation of Bac Ninh province basically agreed with the establishment of Hue city under the Central Government. She also agreed with the Government’s proposal that the city under the Central Government will be named Hue. Hue city has developed for many years in the direction of an urban area of ​​heritage and tourism, and it is one of the places that international delegations want to visit. The establishment of Hue city under the Central Government will create a stimulus for Hue to continue to develop and improve its criteria and indicators.

Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of NA Deputies Tran Thi Van affirmed that the establishment of Hue city under the Central Government is the most suitable solution to create a driving force for Hue to promote its potential and advantages, especially in switching the economic development structure.

However, in terms of per capita income, local budget revenue is not commensurate with the criteria of a centrally-run city. When approved by the NA, it will create motivation for Hue to develop. Specifically, in switching the economic structure from agriculture, services, heritage values promotion ​​to the development of tourism and service industries. Therefore, these changes will be made in the labor structure and land use purposes, creating encouragement for the real estate market to develop. The economic growth will support Hue to break through, escape the threshold of per capita income, increase budget revenue to create resources for infrastructure investment and improve people's lives.
