Peak month of mobilizing support "For the Poor" Fund in 2024 launches

Overview of the conference.

Attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee; and members of the Mobilization Committee.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels mobilized more than VND 37.1 billion. Of which, the Mobilization Committee has allocated the Fund to support the construction of 17 new Great Solidarity houses; visited and presented gifts to 2,682 students who are children of poor households; supported production development, helped the poor with medical examination and treatment, presented gifts to the poor..., thereby, contributing to helping poor households overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and gradually escape poverty.

In addition, Bac Ninh province has donated VND 10 billion from the "For the Poor" Fund to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Dien Bien province.

According to the Plan, the time to mobilize support the Provincial "For the Poor" Fund in 2024 will be carried out all year round, peaking from October 17 to November 18, with the goal of mobilizing about VND 12 billion in the whole province. In particular, each cadre, civil servant, public employee, worker; officer, professional soldier, defense worker is mobilized to support from 01 day of basic salary or more; household of VND 20 thousand or more. Business and service households, each household supports VND 100 thousand or more. Religious organizations, depending on conditions, are mobilized to support at least 1 Great Solidarity house for poor households worth VND 65 million or more. Enterprises and businessmen, depending on conditions of scale and revenue, allocate a part of their fund to support the Fund, from VND 65 million or more to support the construction of Great Solidarity houses...

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha requested news agencies to step up propaganda to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, businesses, organizations and individuals to join in helping the poor; support the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels and social security programs. Localities organize and implement the peak month for the whole population to participate in supporting the "For the Poor" Fund. At the same time, authorities continue to review, make a list of poor households with houses at risk of collapse, in need of construction and provide guidance on the application for support in building Great Solidarity houses in 2024. They also need to help poor households complete the remaining indicators and criteria of poor households, striving for no poor households in the whole province by 2025.

The Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee also requested the Provincial “For the Poor” Fund Mobilization Committee to do a good job of advising and coordinating to effectively implement the work of mobilizing support the Fund, thereby, contributing to the good implementation of social security work in the locality, and promoting the spirit of solidarity, mutual love and mutual assistance in the community.
