Project “Investment in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people” implemented
(BNP) - On February 22, the Ministry of Construction held a national online conference to deploy the Project “Investment in building at least 1 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the 2021 - 2030 period” in 2024. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha attended and presided at the conference.

Participants in the conference at Bac Ninh’s venue were Mr. Dao Quang Khai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
Implementing the Government’s policy on social housing development, including the Project “Investment in building at least 01 million social housing apartments for low-income people and industrial park workers in the 2021 – 2030 period”, the country currently has 499 social housing projects implemented with a scale of 411,250 apartments.
With the attention and drastic direction of the Government, the social housing development has achieved important results in recent years. Many localities have been active in attracting investment and promoting the start of social housing construction such as Bac Ninh, Bac Giang, Binh Duong and so on.
In terms of the support capital application of VND 120,000 billion, the disbursement is still slow. Until now, only 0.3% has been disbursed with nearly VND 415 billion for 06 social housing projects in 05 localities.
In Bac Ninh, the province has implemented 54 social housing projects for low-income people and industrial park workers with a total land area of about 173 hectares. When completed, the projects will cover about 7.1 million square meter of floor space with more than 77,000 apartments for about 231,000 people.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested ministries, branches and localities to focus on carefully reviewing and applying the newly passed Land Law and the system of related legal documents to create a strict legal corridor for social housing projects.
Concluding at Bac Ninh’s venue, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Dao Quang Khai recommended that departments, branches and localities would focus on implementing the housing development plans to ensure the set goals. At the same time, the functional agencies need to cooperate to remove difficulties and obstacles for investors, especially site clearance, extension and signing of contract appendices, etc.
