Provincial People’s Committee and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government sign MoU
(BNP) – On November 29, the Provincial People's Committee and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government, Korea, held a signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Participants at the signing ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Nguyen Anh Tuan; Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do province Lee Cheol Woo; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee Ta Dang Doan and leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and localities.

At the signing ceremony, Secretary Tuan said that within the framework of a business trip to Korea last November, the Bac Ninh delegation had the opportunity to visit and work in Gyeongsangbuk-do province and was very impressed by its prosperity and strong development. At the same time, he thanked Governor Lee Cheol Woo for spending his time to welcome the delegation.

Tuan stressed that Bac Ninh province and Gyeongsangbuk-do province have strong links from history and modern times. Based on the foundation of cooperation that began to be officially built when affiliated localities established friendly cooperative relationships, such as Tu Son City and Bonghwa District, Bac Ninh City and Gumi City. Since then, localities have continuously carried out exchange and cooperation activities.

Tuan affirmed that Bac Ninh province would do everything possible to take the relationship between Bac Ninh and Gyeongsangbuk-do to new heights, opening up opportunities for comprehensive cooperation in all fields, thereby, contributing to promotion of Vietnam-Korea's comprehensive strategic partnership.

For his part, Mr. Lee Cheol Woo believed that the signing with Bac Ninh province would strengthen the relationship between Bac Ninh and Gyeongsangbuk-do. He also stated that Korea is proposing a law for foreign students to study abroad so that their parents can come to protect them. On that basis, he hoped that Bac Ninh province would pay attention and send students to study abroad. At the same time, he further hoped that the two sides would continue to cooperate and stay close to develop student exchange activities as well as join hands to create a Vietnamese village in Bongwha district.

At the ceremony, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang and Governor Lee Cheol Woo signed a MoU in various fields. It goes into efect on November 29, 2023, is effective for five years, and is automatically extended for another five years, unless either party gives the other party written notice of its intention to terminate the MoU at least three months prior to the extension date.

Previously, the delegation of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Government visited the Do temple (Dinh Bang ward, Tu Son city). The delegation worked at Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co., Ltd., and Viglacera Infrastructure Development Investment Company (Yen Phong Industrial Park).
