Provincial People’s Committee holds conference on reviewing and evaluating socio-economic growth indicators in 2024

(BNP) - On the afternoon of November 4, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) chaired the Conference to review and evaluate socio-economic growth indicators for the first 10 months of 2024 as well as forecast socio-economic indicators for 2024.

At the Conference, leaders of the Provincial Statistics Office and departments and branches assessed the socio-economic growth indicators in the first 10 months of 2024, highlighting bright spots in the economy in the first 10 months such as: Industrial production index (IIP) increased by 5.28%; total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by 9.8% over the same period; the whole province had 3,229 newly established enterprises, up 11%; total registered capital increased by 19.1%; foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction increased by 13%; newly registered capital increased by 75.2%; total state budget revenue in the first 10 months increased by 12%...

At the conference, leaders of departments and sectors focused on discussing advantages and disadvantages in socio-economic fields as well as the potential for development. At the same time, they proposed tasks and solutions to promote growth and gave comments on statistical and synthesis methods to most accurately and realistically reflect the province's growth targets.

Concluding the conference, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan requested the Bac Ninh Statistics Office to proactively advise the province, apply statistical methods, synthesis, and sampling to achieve the most accurate statistical results, accurately and fully reflecting the socio-economic growth results of the province, creating momentum for socio-economic development in the province.

The province will establish a Growth Index Working Group led by the Department of Statistics, including members from relevant departments, sectors and the Provincial Institute for Socio-Economic Development Research. Departments and sectors must work closely with the Department of Statistics to connect data, creating favorable conditions for the fastest and most accurate statistical activities.

The Chairman requested that, before November 10, the Provincial Statistics Office work with the leaders of the General Statistics Office to discuss the province's growth drivers and advise the Provincial People's Committee on statistical methods appropriate for the province's development conditions.
