Steering Committee of Bac Ninh province holds conference on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses

(BNP) - On the evening of November 21, the Steering Committee on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province held its first meeting to deploy tasks for the coming time. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee chaired the conference.

Also attending the conference were Ms. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee.

The conference approved Decision No. 1179-QD/TU dated November 14, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the establishment of a Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, consisting of 33 members, headed by Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan. At the same time, the proposal of the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee on the Project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province was approved; the draft Regulations on organization and operation of the Steering Committee, and the draft assignment of tasks to members of the Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province were approved.

According to the review of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities, up to this point, the province has 216 households that need to have their temporary and dilapidated houses removed (including 85 families of people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs; 131 near-poor and disadvantaged households with difficult circumstances).

Speaking at the conference, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized the province's determination to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for families of meritorious people, near-poor and disadvantaged households in difficult circumstances in the province. The province agreed on a support level of VND 100 million per household for new construction and VND 50 million per household for repair. The Secretary requested that immediately after the conference, districts, towns and cities need to direct and conduct an accurate review of the list of each household, with detailed and specific information for the Steering Committee to complete before November 30. Each locality selects at least 02 households to start building houses in early December 2024.

Press and media agencies actively promote information and propaganda during the implementation eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province, creating effects and spreading power throughout the society. Each department and sector, member of the Provincial Steering Committee, mobilized resources to support one household to build a new house or repair it. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee proactively connects with businesses in the province to give gifts and essential items to households in difficult circumstances.

The Secretary also requested departments, sectors, organizations, and people, especially the Police and Military forces, to conduct a review with affection and responsibility, and support working days in the process of demolishing old houses and building new houses for households in need. Therefore, it contributes to speeding up the progress and striving to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025).
