“Đại Bi Tự” (Great Compassion Temple)
(BNP) - Thuong hamlet is an ancient village with the name “Ném Thượng" in Khac Niem ward, Bac Ninh city, located in a land full of legends about the history and culture of the nation. This is converged and reflected in the complex of ancient communal houses and pagodas of the village, typically the village temple named “Đại Bi Tự” (Great Compassion Temple).

“Đại Bi Tự” is located on the top of Ngoan Son mountain, which was built a long time ago. Until the time of Le Trung Hung, it was restored and expanded on a very large scale in the style of "hundred rooms" and was once the Buddhist center of the region.
In 1990, the villagers temporarily built a few small-scale Tam Bao booths to worship Buddha. In 2004-2005, Thuong villagers together made a donation to rebuild the temple's Tam Bao throne on a large scale according to the traditional appearance. Currently, the temple has architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter.
The outstanding value of “Đại Bi Tự” is the 5 waterfalls of steles at the temple dating back to the Le Trung Hung period.
"“Đại Bi Tự” was once a famous ancient temple, which contributed to the culture of Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh. Therefore, in 2010, the temple was ranked as a provincial cultural and historical relic.
