Bac Ninh celebrates 190th anniversary of its establishment, 25th anniversary of re- establishment and receives First-Class Labour Order

Bac Ninh receives the First-Class Labour Order.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong; President Nguyen Xuan Phuc; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent flowers to congratulate Bac Ninh province.

Participants at the ceremony were General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; General Pham Van Tra, former Politburo member, former Defense Minister; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; members of the Party Central Committee; leaders of central committees, ministries, branches and mass organizations; leaders of provinces and cities; leaders and former leaders of central ministries, branches and mass organizations are children of Bac Ninh's hometown.

Bac Ninh province’ leaders at the ceremony were Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Dao Hong Lan; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Quoc Chung; Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang; former leaders of the province through the periods; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Provincial Permanent People's Council; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee and Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; members of Revolutionary veteran, Heroic Mother of Vietnam, Hero of the People's Armed Forces, Hero of Labor; representatives from Bac Ninh’s young generation.

In her speech, Secretary Dao Hong Lan highlighted Bac Ninh’s transformation from a rural province into a modern industrial province, with its economic size now ranking 8th among provinces and centrally-governed cities in Vietnam.

The provincial economy grew by an annual average of 13.9% in the 1997-2021 period; GRDP in 2021 was 23.8 times higher than in 1997; the economy ranked the 8th in the country; GRDP per capita reached VND 155.6 million, ranked 4th in the country; Economic structure shifts towards industry and services and so on. Bac Ninh is now an electronic and high-tech manufacturing center, home to over 1,700 foreign-invested projects worth a total of 21.2 billion USD.

The economic structure shifted towards industry and services. The agricultural sector is focused on restructuring towards sustainability in association with new rural construction.

Sectors of culture and society were comprehensively developed. Bac Ninh was one of leading provinces in policy and social welfare. The education, vocational training, job creation, life improvement were also paid attention, contributing to decreasing the rate of poor households.

National defense and security were maintained; foreign affairs, cooperation and international integration were expanded and enhanced, creating a favorable environment to attract investors from 38 countries and territories...

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Public Security To Lam congratulated the province on its significant achievements in the past 25 years.

He urged Bac Ninh to build on its tradition and tap into its strengths to transform Bac Ninh into a major economic driver of the northern key economic region as well as an industrial and smart city by 2045.

On the occasion, Minister To Lam presented the Labour Order, first class, to the Bac Ninh Party organisation, government and people.

On behalf of Bac Ninh Party Committee, government and people, Chairwoman Nguyen Huong Giang thanked to General To Lam’s profound guidance.

She also launched an emulation movement in the entire Party Committee, government and people in the province.

With a strong strategic vision and aspiration to rise up, the Party Committee, government and people of Bac Ninh province would continue to innovate, mobilize all resources, create a breakthrough in development, the Chairwoman added.
