Bac Ninh leads nationwide in quality of contest "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smile"

(BNP) - The Ministry of Education and Training, the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), and Honda Vietnam Company jointly awarded the prize of the contest "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smile" for school year 20233-2024.”

Launched in November 1st 2023, the "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smile" contest for the 2023 - 2024 school year attracted the participation of a large number of students and teachers from middle and high schools across the country with more than 9 million high-quality entries.

According to regulations, for middle and high school students, each province or city is allowed 50 entries (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City alone are allowed 70 entries per school level). For teachers, each level gets 15 entries (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City alone get 20 entries per school level). Students participate in answering multiple-choice questions about traffic safety knowledge, road traffic law, and essay content to solve traffic situations appropriate to the knowledge and skills they have learned and their age. For teachers, choose the content of the document "Traffic Safety for Tomorrow's Smile" at middle and high school levels to create lesson plans and test teaching.

Participating in the contest, the Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh Province launched and deployed it to all middle and high school teachers and students in the sector. Through the competition rounds, 123 entries from teachers and 245 entries from students were selected to participate in the provincial round; 100 student’s and 30 teachers' papers participated at the national level.

As a result, Bac Ninh won a total of 116 prizes (87.6%), including 05 first prizes, 08 second prizes, 30 third prizes, and 73 consolation prizes. The province led nationwide in terms of prize quality at the contest. In particular, with 5/38 first prizes nationwide, Bac Ninh province accounted for 13% of the total number of first prizes in the country.

Among them, 05 first prizes include: teacher Nguyen Thi Mai, Khac Niem Secondary School (Bac Ninh city); teacher Nguyen Thi Hoai, Thuan Thanh High School No. 1; Ngo Quang Huy, class 10A5, Han Thuyen High School; Nguyen Minh Ngoc, class 11A11, Han Thuyen High School; Dam Phuong Nam Hai, class 7A3, Nguyen Dang Dao Secondary School (Bac Ninh city).

Some units in the province maintain good implementation of the contest effectively and achieve high quality, such as Han Thuyen High School (08 prizes, including 2 first prizes), Thuan Thanh High School No. 1 (08 prizes, including 1 first prize), Gia Binh High School No.1 (07 prizes), and Ly Thuong Kiet High School (04 prizes). The Department of Education and Training of Bac Ninh City led with 25 prizes (of which 02 were first prizes), followed by the Department of Education and Training of Luong Tai District with 18 prizes.
