Dau pagoda woodblocks recognized as national treasures

(BNP) - Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha has signed Decision No. 73/QD-TTg dated January 18, 2024 on recognizing 29 national treasures (phase 12, 2023).


Woodblocks are currently kept at Dau Pagoda.

According to the Decision, Woodblocks of Dau Pagoda, dating from 1752 - 1859, currently kept at Dau Pagoda, Thanh Khuong ward, Thuan Thanh town, Bac Ninh province are recognized as national treasures.

Up to now, along with the Woodblocks of Dau pagoda, Bac Ninh province has a total of 18 treasures, a group of national treasures including: statutes of the Buddhas of the three times at But Thap pagoda, incense burner at But Thap pagoda and the nine-story lotus tower at But Thap pagoda (stored at But Thap pagoda, Dinh To commune, Thuan Thanh town); Diem communal house's hammock door; Doctor's Stele at Bac Ninh Temple of Literature; Amitabha Buddha statue (reserved at Phat Tich Pagoda, Tien Du district); statue of Guishan Guanyin with thousand eyes and thousand hands (reserved at But Thap pagoda, Thuan Thanh town); stele "Thap Minh Relics" (currently kept at Bac Ninh Provincial Museum); stone Dragon (Snake God) (currently kept at Le Van Thinh temple, Gia Binh district); three Buddha Statue (currently kept at Linh Ung Pagoda, Gia Dong ward, Thuan Thanh town); set of 10 spiritual animals Statues in Phat Tich pagoda; Dragon-carved Stone Pole in Dam pagoda; set of “Tu Phap” Buddha Statues of Dau-Luy Lau Region (currently worshiped at Dau Pagoda, Phi Tuong Pagoda, Dan Pagoda, Thuan Thanh town); woodblock of the book "Hai Thuong Y Tong Tam Linh" (stored at the Provincial Museum); Dong Son cultural bronze jar (Tu Son city); stone stele of Tinh Lu pagoda (Gia Binh district), Avalokiteśvara statue of Cung Kiem pagoda (Que Vo town).
