Delegation of Ministry of Investment and Planning has a working session in Bac Ninh

(BNP) - In the afternoon of August 20th, the delegation of the Ministry of Planning and Investment led by Mr. Nguyen Chi Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Planning and Investment had a working session with leaders of Bac Ninh province evaluating the implementation of the socio-economic development plan for the first 6 months and forecasting the implementation capacity for the last 6 months of 2018 and the socio-economic development plan in 2019.

At the meeting, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh briefed the delegation on the socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months of 2018. Accordingly, continuing the growth of 2017, Bac Ninh economy keeps well developing with a wide range of leading indicators, specifically GRDP in the first 6 months increased by 17% over the same period. Bac Ninh has reached and exceeded 12 out of 26 targets, of which almost are in the top rank in the country such as industrial production value, economic size, budget revenue, and rate of schools satisfying standards and class solidification.

The province is now in a new stage of development with strong motivations, which tend to turn Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city by 2022. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the support and facilitation from the Ministry of Planning and Investment to report to the Government on approval of investing policy in VSIP 2 Industrial Zone, Yen Phong II Industrial Zone and transforming the investor of Gia Binh Industrial Zone. Moreover, the Bac Ninh province’s Chairman also proposed agreement on the policy of supplementing the planning and permission for the establishment of "Bac Ninh Hi-Tech Park" in Bac Ninh city and Tien Du district with an area of about 250 hectares, and guiding the integration of projects of Samsung Display Vietnam Co. Ltd to the Government and the Ministry.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung noted and appreciated the outstanding achievements in a variety of fields of the province in the past time. The Minister stressed Bac Ninh province should well prepare infrastructure, planning, and quality of human resources, especially selecting high technology projects with large capital sources, using less land, and environmental friendliness.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Secretary Nguyen Nhien Chien would like to deliver his gratitude to the Minister of Planning and Investment and be willing to receive his steering speech as an addition to the task of leading and directing the province in the coming time. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped the Ministry of Planning and Investment to keep paying attention to and creating favorable conditions so that the province would be able to successfully complete its objectives and plans, which aim at becoming a centrally-run city by 2022.
