From purely agricultural province, Bac Ninh leads country in FDI attraction

(BNP) - In recent years, the province has historically prioritized cooperation, marketing, and investor attraction. Up to now, Bac Ninh has attracted capital from many global economic groups such as: Samsung, Canon, Nokia-Microsoft, Amkor. It has consistently ranked 1st in the country in terms of foreign investment attraction.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the provincial leaders met with Samsung Vietnam Complex, typical enterprises from China, Taiwan, Japan, Vietnam, etc. They visited and worked with Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., Goertek Vina Co., Ltd.., to share and resolve difficulties and recommendations. They also received and worked with Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd., Chairman of Goertek Group, Johnson Group (Taiwan - China), CMC Technology Group, Kine SIC Semi Company (USA)... to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the province.

The provincial leaders further received and worked with domestic and foreign delegations: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan to Vietnam; Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan; Delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany; Delegation of Yangzhou City; President of Timor-Leste;... to learn about and cooperate in investment; organized delegations of provincial leaders to visit and work abroad.

In the first 9 months of 2024, the total capital of newly granted and registered FDI projects reached about USD 4.5 billion, ranking first in the country; domestic investment attraction increased 2.9 times in the number of newly licensed projects, and 3.2 times in registered capital; newly-established enterprises increased by 12.6%.

Up to now, there are more than 2,400 valid FDI projects in the province with a total investment capital of over USD 29 billion.
