Provincial historical and cultural relic: Nguyen clan ancestral house, Phu Khe ward

(BNP) - The Nguyen clan ancestral house in Phu Khe Thuong quarter, Phu Khe ward, Tu Son city was originally built in the year Canh Than, under the reign of King Le Anh Tong (1560) and consists of 3 thatched-roofed compartments. After multiple repairs, the clan ancestral house still retains its ancient architecture and has been recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic. 


 

The Nguyen clan ancestral house is a place to worship the famous scholars and ancestors of the Nguyen Trai family in Phu Khe. The Nguyen family is famous for its heritage of scholarship, studiousness and patriotism, with General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu being the most renowned example. Currently, the temple still preserves the gate, front hall and back hall.


In front of the clan ancestral house is a large lake lined with green stones.


The gate was built in traditional architecture.


The Front Ceremonial Hall consists of 5 compartments.


 

On the roof of the Front Ceremonial Hall are embossed the words "Nguyen clan ancestral house" (in large letters) and "Bao Dai Mau Thin spring" (meaning the temple was renovated for the 6th time in the spring of Mau Thin year under the reign of King Bao Dai the 3rd - 1928).


 

Most of the architectural parts of the Tien Te (Front Ceremonial Hall) are skillfully carved and polished.


In the middle is a photo of the famous person Nguyen Trai.

Currently, the clan ancestral house still preserves many valuable artifacts from the Le - Nguyen period such as: genealogy, incense table, eight treasures, scrolls, wooden plaques, horizontal lacquered boards, parallel sentences...

On February 26, Dinh Suu year (1937), General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu (17th generation descendant) returned to the clan ancestral house to pay respects.

Every year, the Nguyen family celebrates their ancestors' death anniversary on the 16th day of the second lunar month. On this day, descendants from all over the country gather at the temple to review the glorious traditions of the family. The Nguyen clan ancestral house is ranked as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic according to Decision No. 112/1998/QD/UB, dated December 31, 1998.
