Historical relic - Hoa Dinh communal house

(BNP) - Hoa Dinh communal house, Hoa Dinh quarter, Vo Cuong ward, Bac Ninh city was originally built in the reign of Le Trung Hung on a large scale and carved with our sacred animals. During the resistance war against the French, the communal house was destroyed. In 2003, local people contributed their efforts to rebuilding the new communal house on the old ground with traditional architectural appearance.


The gate of Hoa Dinh communal house is built in the style of four pillars.

Based on the legend preserved at the communal house, Hoa Dinh communal house worships the tutelary god Governor Le Phung Hieu and two famous generals of the Ly dynasty who helped Ly Thai Tong ascend to the throne and fight against the Champa invaders, Le Ca and Le Hai.


The Great Communal Hall has an architecture of Chinese “Nhat” letter.

All three of them were famous generals under King Ly Thai To and were highly respected by the king.

Currently, Hoa Dinh communal house consists of the Gate made in the style of four pillars. The Great Communal Hall has an architecture of Chinese “Nhat” letter including 5 compartments, 2 wings, 4 curved roofs, and open doors in 3 middle compartments. The communal house has a large wooden frame linked by 10 rows of horizontal columns and 6 rows of vertical columns.

Typical artifacts include: 01 incense burner, 01 pair of cranes, 01 set of eight treasures, 01 horizontal lacquered board, 07 pairs of the 21st century couplets.


The semicircular lake in front of the communal house creates landscape space for the relic.

The annual traditional festival of Hoa Dinh communal house is held on the 6th day of the second lunar month. During the festivals, there are many games for people to enjoy such as Quan ho singing, tuong, cheo, tree swing, wrestling competitions, volleyball, football, etc.

Hoa Dinh communal house was ranked as a Provincial-level historical and cultural relic in Decision No. 56/QD - UBND dated January 18, 2011.
